I agree they must be talking about a Tariff Code or closer to the point the the (HTS) Harmonized Tariff System. Otherwise the word TARIK is actually a moorish name or a type of Chinese Tea.

In Europe customs clearance is made using the TARIC code so if you sell to Europe it is a good idea to ask your client for the customs codes and list them on the invoice.
