Is Alibaba the MOST UNSAFE trading portal??
Post 1 of 9
I find thousands and thousands of businessmen getting ripped off due this site. Most of the users are scammers and their address looks very very obviously fake.
Most websites take great pain to ensure that their customers or users do not get cheated when transacting through their site but this site doesnt seem to even think on these terms.
I have highlighted numerous fake offers/companies but they still are very much active and quite possibly still scamming people.
Is there an alternative to this website - this large? If not, I am thinking we should all get together and build a very safe non-profit making portal for our benefit. If hackers can build Linux to thrash Micrsoft, this should be a child's play.
Please let me know your thoughts on this.
Thanks,
Satix

Replying to [sunGod]: Im interested in what you think it would cost to maintain a site as big as this and how much you would charge all members to participate in it. How much would you charge for verification of each company? There are sites already that charge 25,000.00USD a year for you to stay on their site. When you talk about being ripped off are you talking about a majority of people that have never done an international trade deal? Have no idea how to confirm a trade partner? Have no idea that they bought a product that cannot be legally imported into their country?
There are thousand's of people that have no clue at all about the most basic principles of doing a deal, negotiating a deal, and or how to ensure they are getting what they are paying for. I have been a buyers agent for over 25 years and the majority of smaller clients never came to us on the first deal because they thought they could save money by going it alone. I have had clients that have had 2kUSD - 100kUSD worth of products confiscated and or destroyed by US customs all because they thought they knew what they were doing. You can be a legally registered company anywhere in the world, but what is the single most factor that makes you a real business instead of a shell company?

Replying to [sunGod]: Again....the best way to not get ripped off is a site visit. You can save alot if you visit the factory. I travel to China alot and have seen both real factories and scam offices in dumpy hi-rises posing as factories. You may also need a good translator for email and in person. Chinese businessmen may only answer part or some of your questions if you email. They sometimes are very selective in their answers so they may not have to address every question or detail. An email sent in both english and chinese will help.

As long as Thousands and Thousands of "HOBBY" BUSINESSMAN, try to make business in what they have no expirience, so long scammers will be alive and we see the complaints of the buyers !
If a expirienced businessman compares prices, delivery-options and
-possibilities, he never can be cheated so long as greed not become a part of his business !
There is no safe website in the net, everything is possible and as mentioned in a reply before, the good old face to face business is the safest.

I agree with you on what you have said above.
But how about the ZHENGSHOU CENTURY UNION OCEAN MECHANICAL IMPPORT AND EXPORTÂ…, they invited many people in their country to sign a contract. So they meet people face to face but they scam

I agree that any company advertising any sales at all should supply this page with legit retailer ID's, Factory information, Credit Reports, Staff name lists and so forth. This site has so many scammers it's unbeliveable ... There are those in doubt but it's true during christmas time when I was doing the ground work for my company I spoke to over 200 people and only 4 of them I purchased items for and only 2 of them actually supplied me with anything worth having. My experience on this matter is through hands on transactions and thats the best way. Buy sample after sample until you feel safe.
I would love it if these scamming companies could be prosecuted some how. Although i'm going to speak on a valid point in my own topic concerning why people are getting scammed and who is typically getting scammed.

I am a free member on this site and conducted 3 deals so far, and as I am basically new to this sort of thing(green in fact) I guess I have been lucky not to be caught out.
But basic checks on companies and reputation are a pre requisite for me before I even think about sending monies.
The information is there, just go look for it, if in doubt? dont do it.

Replying to [kinglion-scamers-at-alibab]:it is really hard to trust nowadays. I do not think alibaba is alone when it comes to these kind of problem. In real life, opportunists exist and we have to be constantly vigilant about our dealings.
