Hi,

I am trying to get my supplier to ship some samples over from China to Singapore. The samples are of cylindrical shape, 6inch diameter and only 5 cm long. I am only asking for 2 samples and they weigh less than 1kg in total. But he is asking for USD 100 to ship over!

Is he trying to scam me or what? Any advice is appreciated.

US$100 to ship a package that weighs under a kilo ? That too from China to

Singapore ? Are these products partly made of gold or something ? [em3]

Sounds extravagant - you need to get a proper explanation from your supplier but

one thing's for sure: this doesn't sound right !
Best would be to get the samples down to Singapore "collect" through your own

account (If you do not have one, most major couriers offer free account opening facilities).
Your supplier should be willing to, under normal circumstances, send you the samples

free of charge, especially if they're very low / low value. They should consider that you

are being genuine enough to pay for the courier cost, which is almost all cases will

exceed the value of items being sent (low value/very low value samples).

is hard to say. if your sample was made of  magnet or other material which is forbiden to ship. The shipping company will charge higher price.
