JUST AN IDEADON'T YOU THINK IT WILL BE A GOOD IDEA TO MAKE A LIST OF ALL THE HONEST SELLERS ON ALIBABA.
IF YOU HAD A SUCCESSFUL TRANSACTION YOU CAN PERHAPS ADD A SELLER TO THE LIST.
PERHAPS HAVE A RATING SYSTEM THAT GETS ADDED TO A SELLERS PROFILE ,SO BUYERS CAN MAKE A MORE INFORMED DECISION.
I'M SURE THE PROCESS CAN EASILY BE MANAGED BY ALIBABA
IT WILL BE MUCH MORE CREDIBLE THAN JUST DISPLAYING A "TRUSTPASS " OR "GOLD SUPPLIER" LOGO . THEY ARE OFTEN A FRAUD COMPANY.
EVERYONE GOES ON ABOUT THE SCAMMERS ,WHICH IS A GREAT , BUT WHAT ABOUT THE GOOD SELLERS ???
I APPROACH EVERY LISTING ON ALIBABA AS A SCAM UNTIL I HAVE PROVE OTHERWISE, A RATHER NEGATIVE AND TIME CONSUMING ATITDUDE, BUT SAVE .
I WRITE THIS BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR ;MAKITA OR DEWALT ; AND BRAND NAME QUAD BIKE SUPPLIERS
I HAVE BEEN MET BY ONE SCAMMER AFTER ANOTHER.
IT TAKES HOURS OR DAYS TO VERIFY A COMPANY AND STILL YOU CAN'T BE 100% SURE.
I'M NOT SAYING STOP VERIFING COMPANIES ,BUT RATHER ADD THIS AS A TOOL TO SPEED UP BUSINESS AND BUILD TRUST AMONGST US
ALIBABA DOES NOT DO NEARLY ENOUGH TO VERIFY SELLERS,
SHAME ON THEM !
DO THEY EVEN CROSS CHECK TEL. NR. AND ADDESSES TO OTHER LISTINGS ,
I DOUBT IT .
RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN PROHIBETED FROM TRADING ON ANOTHER B2B WEBSITE JUST BECAUSE MY COUNTRY ,SOUTH AFRICA ,IS AN APARENT HIGH RISK COUNTRY.
I HAD TO FIRST PROVIDE MY COMPANY REGISTRATION DOCUMENT !!!
AND I ONLY APPLIED AS A FREE MEMBER!!!!
I DID NOT MIND BUT WAS ACTUALLY PLEASED TO COME ACCROSS A B2B WHO REALY CARES ABOUT ITS' MEMBERS .
IF THIS RULE APPLIED ON ALIBABA 90% OF INDONESIAN COMPANIES WILL BE REMOVED.
SORRY , I DO NOT MEAN TO OFFEND A SPECIFIC COUNTRY OR ITS' PEOPLE BUT I'M SURE YOU GET THE IDEA
I HAVE FOUND COUNTLESS "SELLERS" WITH MORE THAN ONE "COMPANY".

A rating system similar to eBay would work and we could all contribute to the listing. Include things like pricing, shipping time, communication, reliability, contact information, quality. It would work and that way everyone would be able to rank any supplier they had contact with. Being able to rank a supplier BEFORE and AFTER making a purchase as sometimes it is the BEFORE interaction that is what determines if you can trust someone as much as the DURING and AFTER the transaction that counts

1) If buyers saw the ranking and only buy from highly ranked supplier (for the same type of item)...then how about the lower rank one?...

WHAT IF ALIBABA TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR LACK OF VERIFICATION BY ACTING AS A THIRD PARTY TO REGULATE PAYMENT,LIKE PAYPAL.

Who is going to do that? How will the judgement be right? If you rate these companies as "honest" and they turn out to default in their deliveries, or quality control, how would the buyer claim?
What about those genuine businesses that are not in the list? Are they considered to be SCAMs?
If you appoint a Police man to catch the crooks, make sure the Police man is not a Bad Cop.

Dear,
Its important and already discussed long time back that alibaba should provide some service by which we can manage a list of well performing companies to close alibaba for scammers.
I already requested to alibaba chief to start an "Alibaba Escrow" service by which everybody can better trade with full satisfaction. Alibaba has members all over the world so its easy for alibaba admin to verify and work on this issue.

Dear Elisha,
These are very good questions. Ranking can only be done by Alibaba admin but still this idea cannot be possible much. Alibaba Escrow service can provide us with better staisfaction. If alibaba admin can have a look into my request and If you guys can also request for alibaba escrow service than I think scammers cannot do business.

Stay away from Indonesian sellers. Tool Powers have scammed me for about 1500 usd. They use the fake couriersite www.indotiki.com and give you a trackingnumber as well.. DHL, which was agreed upon to use, is switched with fake indotiki in last minute due to export regulations of minimum order quantity... Is you have some friends with hacker skills, please destroy www.indotiki.com and take away a tool from the scammers..!!!

There are hundred ways to eliminate the scammers, but only if they want to. I don't know how much the sale volume that scammers contributed, but I am sure this part of sales are growing well.
