Hi,

I am a potential buyer of iron weights from Singapore. I have a supplier who is selling these weights but he mentioned that the minimum order is 3000kg. I am afraid I cannot make such a huge order and hold such a large stock as there is no guarantee for the demand here.

How can I convince my supplier to sell me only say 500kg for a first-time order?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can place a trial order and he or she will accept 500 Kg for trial order.

some cost will not change whether your quality big or small.

when you need to buy a small quantity of goods, you will raise price.

no one will do business without profit.

First of all, i have never seen the iron weights factory in Singapore !! Likely your "supplier" is not the "manufacturer."  So I suggest you try to find a manufacturer, probably in China, who is more flexible and willing to start the business with you.  Singapore is a rich country with high expectations.

The first order can be negotiable, just show your sincerity and promise to order more next time. Most supplier will agree. Unless you just want to make one deal with him. So don't leave him the impression that your order ability is limited, sometimes boasting properately is necessary to all the buyers and supplier.

Hi ,I think the key problem is whether you can accept a higher price if the first order (500kg).If you confirm have a long cooperation with the supplier, even though the first order is 500kg ,the supplier would send  the product. And the quality must be good !

how many you should order is not  the key question, it depend on how much you can pay, money can  handle all the things [em2]

Just more information. If I have the opportunity of approaching a wholesaler to purchase the iron weights, I would. But the fact is that there are NO other sellers/distributors of these iron weights in my country, as such I only can approach the manufacturer directly.

Well that is a good news then. You do not have a lot of competition.

You can talk to the supplier that this is a test order and a bigger order can follow, provided you test the quality and it turns out to be ok.

Just be confident and talk on a buyer's confidence. They need you, as much as you need them

yep! totally agreed with u! even so sample order always goes higher in price.

They need u as much as u need them! Good point! so try it![em20]
