Quoting from [luixcl]:Hi,
I'm intending to bring swords from china to California - USA to sell them by the internet as collectibles.
They are real size and iron/steel made. So they can be considered as a weapon.
Can i sell them like any other item? or do i have to get some special permit?Same question about the importing, do i need to have some special permit to get them trough customs?Appreciate all your helpTank you
I is illegal to sell the replicas if they are replicating a copywriten design.
And customs would find out.
good luck

You really need to do your homework back home on this.
If swords are restricted or forbidden imports then you will need an import licence for those products. If you try to bring them in without a licence and they get found the items will be destroyed by customs and you will lose your money.
Then I you will need to check with your local authorities in California about the sale of these items. Once again if they are restricted or controlled items then there may be requirements that both you the seller and the your buyers need to meet before you can transact the product.
So make sure that you check all of this out for yourself before you spend a penny buying product that you may never see or be able to sell.
You need to contact US Customs to ask this question. There are all sorts of variables involved.

Find your nearest office and give them a call.
IF (making that assumption) you CAN import them under US Federal law, you also then have to make sure that you are legally able to sell them inside the US under each states own laws (kind of like guns and bows). Some states allow it, some don;t.... Not 100% sure if you can find a single list regarding which states will/won;t allow... Ask customs that question while you are at it.
