Why Exporting to China, Why not producing in China

with the last Economic boom in China "Shanghai, Beijing" and just other big chinese cities, the entire globe focus on exporting to China, now I think that it indeed is a GREAT idea, China worldwide largest POPULATION may make RICH anyone who succeeds on EXPORTING to CHINA,

Now the fact of the PRICES of exportacion, and the selective but big Chinese DEMAND make this game not as easier as it sounds,

well, I lived in SHANGHAI for pretty LONG Time I even can speak Shanghainess DIALECT, and i TRAVELED basically alaround CHINA, and I thnk that the idea of importation to Shanghai is juz GREAT,

but for the rest of China it will still take its own time to adapt to that way of living, so this adaptation will drive them to work for foreign companies, with better salary and better opportunities, this way foreign companies will "export" to China, think you UNDERSTAND if it is still not clear u can ask me, that is just what I am doing, it is cool, and makes good profits [em19]

Hi, friend, do you still live in Shanghai? now i am working in shanghai, we can have a talk about the topic you mentioned. I think to export companies and technology to China, and produce products and talents in China will be the trend in the future. The growing-up of China will be destiny. You can exchange you idea with me through trademanager or my email and msn trade@*******.com.[em1]

[em19][em19] Good idea, actually the new investment areas in China are western and mid part of China like Hunan, Hubei, Henan, Sichuan and Guizhou etc owing to the lower labour cost.  You will definitely profit much more if you can set up your own factory in those areas in China!

Do you exactly know the legal situation for foreigners who want to set up a manufacturing plant in China? I guess there is a big difference between some percentage of foreign investment and foreign ownership.

I like this!

I think you are right. I've been to Beijing 4 months ago and what I can say is that there is more future in exporting to China than in importing from China; Our market is saturated and the GDP is not increasing much (about 3% in the US last years). On the other hand, China have an economical growth average (GDP) of 10% a year since the late 70s!  As you said, the biggest problem is to target the needs of chinese people because of their traditions and culture that is so different from the occidental one. This is why I'm going back in China this winter for a longer period of time and more to the south, in the Guangdong province.  This time I'm here to find what they need, to find ways to conquer this market.

Since my lack of funds and the fact that I'm only 19, I can't open a business and start exporting. That's why I'm still only importing from China and sell on the US market. Hopefully, this will help me to reach my goals, one of them being exporting to China.

Once again, very good topic you created.
