What do you think is the best thing about the UK?

It could be a:

Location

Poem

Saying

Business

Person

Family

Anything!!!

Well, I was born there and still live here. The best things about the UK are, in my humble opinion:

1.Generally, the English have a sense of 'fair play' and will accept cultural differences of many kinds.

2. Although the law is an**** it does work most of the time.

3. The climate might be a bit too wet but I love the green countryside.

4. The class system is so subtle and complex.

5. The places of historical interest would take you a lifetime to explore. Get out of London and see something!

6. The only dangerous animals are men. The wildlife is tame and nothing here will harm you.

7. There are work opportunities everywhere. Just don't be taken advantage of.

8. The poorest English people live like kings compared to 100 years ago.

9. Although we are a stand-off'ish race we are always willing to help. You should simply ask.

10. Although we continiously criticise our country and move to Spain and the US and other places, most Brits come home again. It can't be that bad.

I should write Whatare the worst things about the UK?

One thing that was not said, is the fact that onyone can get great service from our Hospitals for FREE, and when you visit some other countries and see how others have to live and struggle to get medical help.

My wife has just had a baby in UK and the service was GREAT, the birth did have problems but with the staff worked so well as a team,

Private room, 3 course meals, so as i have paid for hospital service in other countries the service we had in UK last week was on another level. [em19]

UK is the best. [em19]

Been travelling for buisnes most my career (mostly in Asia) and when i get back to  Heathrow just love it.

Now living in China for past 2 yrs i am eager to get back even if for 1 week.

Most important thing in UK is the cultural diversity and mix of people, being British Asian myslef, born breed in Coventry (ths best) i love it. Other countries Japan, China, Korea etc does not have it. As a foreginer in these countries (someone probably prove me wrong) you generally can not progress into high management as you are a "gaijin" as Japanese say. I find these countries and more just don't have the cultural mix or even acceptance for foreginers, they just bear with them. UK it generally does not matter, i majority occassion you can become and achieve whatever you like.

UK people are more open to outsiders and accepting and generally honest in business.

Football, Beer (surpised no one mentioned), M25, M1, Union Jack, British Bulldog, Aston Martin, Bond 007, original Mini (not new one horrible), Beatles, Oasis, Chinese & indian food & fish & chips one everyones door step......i can go on.....getting home sick   [em8]
