A very well thought out point.

It is very true that some forwarders/shipping companies are cheaper than others, and you will get varying levels of service.

Having been in this business for over 20 years I would possibly be slightly biaised in recommending my own company, Woodland International. (www.woodlandinternational.com.

We are based in UK and our specialist markets are Asia and North America so realisticly although we cover all other areas these are the markets we offer the best rates for and have the most knowledge of.

Many of the issues with prices in these areas depend on buying power, and if forwarders have their own services as apoosed to piggybacking on others which is the case with probably around 80% of them. They then add in their profitshare which bumps up the price, but in saying that you may still get an excellent service.
