I get confused too, all the member in Alibaba show that they are main factory, so where is the trading companies? I all the time ask them that I want to come and visit your factory, they will make a lot of excuse for that. I think real big factory in China don't have Alibaba account, they are busy enough with Chinese trading company and etc... (my personal view....)

I am sure most are factories but why would it matter that much as long as you can buy the products you want and make your profit? Unless of course you don't want to let the 'small guy' make a profit so that they can become a factory one day. Many of factories started off small , not everyone can just start big. If you are so concern about letting some middle people earn a small profit while they do some work for you to get the products that you otherwise would have to spend your own money to go get and ship, then why not just go and build your own factory yourself and make all the profits and have the headaches associated with it.
