You mean working in China for exports or other business, depends on the person and the business, do they have to be there all the time, must they have to make their import all the time.
if they have to be the person in the front line and answer the question then maybe they have to be there, but some business can run while they are back at home. maybe no clear answer.

It depends on the case and on what purpose you are staying in China for a long time. If you stay in China as one of the stuff of your company and work for your own company, it helps since you will source the right products,make the deals,inspections and shipments etc.In the second option, if you stay in China to work for other customers or companies, it is not easy to say it is helpful as it will depend on your personal skills and how many customers you can find and serve where millions of Chinese people complaint of having received no inquiries at all..

yes. at least you should have a good agent in china i think.
For your buyers, you always searching for the best prices. And this will do a great help, cos you can find some manufactories more easily if you are in china. otherwise, you may know the chinese market( the material market and the labor market), and this will help your evaluation.
