As Nordin writes you cannot buy brand name products from Asia unless you are a licenced distributor of that brand name.

You cannot buy these products from legitimate factories in Asia unless you have a licence as the factories that are licenced to make the product on behalf of the brand name owner are contractually bound to only sell through licenced avenues.

No such legitimate manufacturer is going to risk their licence to sell a few pieces of product on the side.

So that means that any seller offering these products to you in Asia is scamming you. They are either selling counterfeit product or selling you nothing and just running away with your money. Either way you will lose your money if you try to buy this type of product in Asia.

Egernia,

Of course you can buy from Traders in Asia and Just because you have no clue about Branded Electronics, that does not mean there are no legit companies doing the same in Asia.

Why dont you ask Mr Jason Miller of AA wireless or even Mr Sharon Rubin from Rampal (these so called recommened suppliers by Ranger) if they are buying from Trading Companies / Wholesalers from Asia.

You can also ask any Singapore friends about High Street Centre, High Street Plaza, there are so many branded electronics Traders there.

I  think there is a misunderstanding here?  I believe you guys are talking about different things here.

Yes you can buy branded electronics from Asia (particularly Hong Kong) from a trade company.  There are many people that import from Asia without a license.

However No you cannot buy directly from a Manufacturer plant.  Many brands of electronics have factories in Asia, but you cannot buy directly from the actual manufacturing company.  For example, Nokia may contract XYZ company to make cell phones for them, but you cannot by from XYZ company (that would be a breach of contract), you will have to buy from Nokia themselves.

I am guessing that is what you guys are talking about?  I know there are a lot of people that go to China hoping to find these so called "Factories" that will sell them cheap.  UM THATS ILLEGAL AND NOT POSSIBLE.

However that being said, there are a lot of trade companies (wholesalers, trade companies) in Asia that have legal distribution contracts from these major brands, and you can import from them without an import license.

Hope this clears up any confusion.

Going directly to factories in china to purchase those branded electronic they wont entertain you as they are in contract with the company who authorised them to produce their items. The only way is to buy from their authorised distributors only. In china you can get cheap goods only for refurbished or copy products.
