Bad news. The best method is to work hard then let her know your friend is a potential blue stock. She will regret if she miss him. Face the truth, calm down, think of the methods to solve the problem. She is a realistic girl, don't be sad just do some actions.

Look at the brighter side of it, the girl said prepare a house, from what I see she is telling the guy that his not ready. She did not say buy a house for her. Maybe if the guy can come up with the down payment for the house she's willing to cip in to pay for the installment.

If a guy can't at least get a down payment for a house than he is not ready to start a family. The girl did not even accept the diamond ring, tell me that she's not a materialistic one but a matured one. She is looking for tangible, realistic and practical things rather than a diamond ring. Maybe a diamond ring is not important to her, life ahead is more.

My advise to your friend is that, save enough for at least an apartment, be open to the girl that after they get married the have to combine their income for the family. Look for possiblility and set a target if they cant afford it now. If she really love him, she'll chip in to compromise and support.

You can advice your brother laowang to let her know  his is still very young, and has potential power to buy a house for her in few years.

A house is not only the responsibility of a men, but also a girl.

Since they have been getting together for three years, so she knows him clearly that now he has ability to buy a house or not. why let a men feel so depression ?
