Why do they make up "truth'"of Liu Xiang's quit?

Low-downs and inside stories usually draw attention on Internet, but most are groundless rumors. As I've expected, somebody must draw up some fussy stories about Liu Xiang's quit.

Recently a few articles on internet declaimed so-called "truths" of the quit. A self-proclaimed insider said the quit was plotted by Liu Xiang's sponsor. Such "truths" can not stand up with speculation.

The first, some rumors said Liu Xiang quitted to avoid a slap in his homeland. I don't need to explain the important meaning of Olympic Games for a sportsman, especially in his homeland. If he had other choice, he would never permit himself to miss such a chance to pursue his dream. Who lost most from the quit? Who hurt worst by the quit? It's Liu Xiang himself.

Obviously a panic for failure cannot stop him.

The second, rumors said Liu Xiang's injury was due to his commercial activities and lack of training. I've never heard one get hurt at ease. Most sport injuries, especially that of Achilles' tendon, are caused by intensive training. Doctor's checkup can prove it.

The third, so-called low-down said it was sponsor who instigated Liu Xiang to quit because they worried that his failure might bring commercial losses. The illogical conclusion mustn't be worked out after careful thinking.

Win and fail are normality in sports; it has slim effects on benefit of sponsor. However, as estimated by commercial personnel, the quit will expense sponsor about 3 billion yuan (about $4,500 million). Would you like to plot such a quit if you are the sponsor?

The most distrustful is the motivation of the rumor. If the story-teller is really an insider of the sponsor company, who is supposed to benefit from the "truth"?

Liu Xiang? Of course not. The sponsor? No. The rumor teller? I guess not.

It's just another silly nonsense.

I wonder whether the so-called low-down envy Liu Xiang.

I am very upset for most people around me  misunderstand Liu Xiang because he escaped the competition. It is true that  we long for Liu flying . Yet he disappointed us. But that is not his fault. Like Fun's saying:"I don't need to explain the important meaning of Olympic Games for a sportsman, especially in his homeland. If he had other choice, he would never permit himself to miss such a chance to pursue his dream. Who lost most from the quit? Who hurt worst by the quit? It's Liu Xiang himself."

Today the news says that Liu Xiang could not be elected as one  of the  IOC. It is a heavy shock for all of our Chinese indeed.

Anyway, health counts more than gold. And Liu Xiang will be flying before long.

Life and health is much more important than medals!

We love Liuxiang, we love the Gold medals but we love the health of the athletes more than their medals.

Trust the truth and let the rumors die...

Dear All

It is a great pity for me to find this topic so late . Also I am the supporter of Liu Xiang as you . The same bad experience for me is that  my colleague and my friend around me are said that : he ensure he will lose the match , lose the medal, lose his dream in homeland , So it is the best way for him is to quit this match . Really take offense about it !

And now , I should pray my accross for him. Hope he will enjoy a better health soon .

           All the best

Liu Xiang is a great athlete and his success in 2004 Athens Olimpic marks a milestone in the history of China's track and field field! Ibelieve he will gain something in 2012.
