TT fee !!!
Post 1 of 3
[em11] Dear all friends,

I need informations about British citibank telegraphic transfer regulation/ fee if anyone know !!!

A person ( claim as citibank official ) ask me to pay fee first, before they do remittance process. They said that can not deduct from existing fund of transfered value... Is that true ??

What is the percentage of TT fee ?

Thanks so much

Are you to remit or to receive? If you are remitting, you'd have to pay the bank's fees separately. If you are receiving, the paying bank may deduct their charges from the proceeds and pay the balance. The exact fee may vary - depending on the size of individual transaction. The standard rate (called the card rate or chart rate) could be available from the local office of Citibank in your country (if you are lucky). Try internet too, it might work.

Dear Citra,

There are a lot of details on T/T transfers at the citibank uk website.

For SWIFT transfers which I am more familiar with, it only mentions of competitive fee charged per transaction but there is a number you can call to verify the fee amount - 0800 00 55 00 (or dial +44 20 7500 5500 if calling from abroad)
http://www.citibank.co.uk/personal/banking/international/swiftfund.htm?merchant=citi

You can work your way into the site if you're interested in other types of transfers.

As a supplier, I think the buyer has to pay bank charges in his own country as the supplier will also be charged fees by the receiving bank. I had one buyer in England who didn't pay the bank charges and so I ended up paying double bank charges which I think isn't fair. Because of that I specifically indicate in every pro forma that all bank charges outside of my country will be the responsibility of the buyer to be clear.

Best of luck,
