Current Large Quanity Purchase Prices for Nand Memory
Post 1 of 1

First let me say that the retail electronics market has hit the bottom forcing companies to do a sell off of vast quanities of stock.

Currently prices are as follows (08/18/08) and takes the average from several distributors.

pricing exception for CF, XD and USB drives:

  •   1GB ~ $3.25       USD/pc per 1K ordered
  •   2GB ~ $5.09       USD/pc per 1K ordered
  •   4GB ~ $16.36     USD/pc per 1K ordered
  •   8GB ~ $48.98     USD/pc per 1K ordered
  • 16GB ~ $72.14     USD/pc per 1K ordered
  • 32GB ~ $127.45   USD/pc per 1K ordered  (USB drive)

Now if you step that up to 2k to 5K there is some drop in price for instance one company offering was 2.75 for 1GB MicroSD and SD drives

When the memory glut is gone prices will skyrocket by an estimated 350%.  There are no $1.00 memory cards out there from the major brands.  You may find and off brand e.g Patriot, Apacer, PQI and Transcend ect... cheaper but how much of the off brand can you sell or do your customers want to buy.  The prices above are reflective of cards using Toshiba and Samsung NAND chips
