One week ago, I was on the business trip with my buyer as his interpreter and tour guide.
The buyer came to inspect his goods and wanted to see his container loading in the factory, so he can pay the factory the balance.
After talked with the factory boss, I finally knew the whole story about the cooperation between the buyer and this factory.
The factory attended some foreign fairs as the exhibitor with his friend (a trading company) together, the factory didn’t have their export sales representatives, the trading company takes care of sales, like contacting with the sellers, the factory takes care of the production.
They worked with each other well in the first 2 years. Because they met some big buyers.
Last year, this trading company began to abuse the buyers’ payment to invest real estate and stock market, but lost money at the end. The trading company escaped, and put the factory and the buyers are in trouble!
Their product catalogue has the contact details of the factory as well, now many of the buyers came to this factory for solution.
The factory boss said, now it is their difficult period, they have already lost the reputation and the buyers’ trust. The trading company owed them a big amount of money as well.
What they can do is to contact the buyers, to explain, to do something helpful, and try to get the buyers back. They also invite the buyers to come to their factory for survey, so the buyers can see they are a real factory, workers are working, production is proceeding, the goods is loading.
The factory boss also said, being an enterprise is so hard, much more difficult than a trading company. If the factory has the regular buyers, the factory makes money quickly.
If the factory has no business, the factory can’t live 1 day.
He said, he felt very tired, sometimes wanted to give up.
I understand his feelings well.
I am thinking also, if the factory boss felt tired, and wanted to stop or relax for some time, their business will be over soon. When they wanted to restart, their buyers and markets will be lost already. All his previous efforts wasted!
Same to me, I am busy with contacting the buyers, the factories everyday.
Sometimes, I felt many of my works are in vain.
If I feel tired one day, and tell my buyer that I don’t want to work, or make the big mistakes due to my negligence, I will lose them and lose my business quickly. They will never come back.
Career is like building a tower, when you set up every brick, you never know when it will be finished. Because it is consist of numerical bricks.
But when you don’t set one by one, the house will never be finished!
So serious, persistence, passional is so important for every work, every career!
