You have lost a minillion buyer
Post 1 of 4

A few days ago, I received an inquiry for laminators, I replied with our laminator catalogue and said: our min order quantity is 100 sets for each model, please tell us which medel you are interiested and tell us your quantity.

The customer replied: we are not interiested in your MOQ, we want to start with small order then increase. But now you have lost a million buyer!!

In fact, I just want to make sure which model and how many they need, I don't know the result will like that, [em8]

Then, what should I do, be patient with him?

Not sure where does this buyer came from. If their mother tongue is English, then I find this person way too arrogant. Forget about him/her and move on.

But if the mother tongue of this person is not English, then perhaps you can ask him/her again in a different way. Such as :

"I hope I didn't offense you by offering our MOQ. May I know the model nr. and quantity idea?"  If it doesn't help, then look for a translator or simply move on.

Sometimes different culture and 3rd language would cause people trouble. Patience is a good way to deal with it.

I agree with Pandora. Language could be playing a problem here.

To be honest though if you lose those kinds of customers you are probably better off in my opinion as some customers are more of a headache than they are worth.

There is a saying that the customer is always right - while I agree with the idea behind that saying as customers are the most important part of any business, clearly customers are not always correct in the way that they behave.

If you can pursue this customer and overcome the misunderstanding then great. If not then that is okay too.

Was the inquiry  received from someone whose first language is English? Are you  quoting exactly ,their reply to you ? If yes to these questions, then their reply appears rude and amateurish.

I would politely respond to them ,confirming you were only asking the normal questions ,reference  product model etc.

You  told them your MOQ was 100 pieces ,therefore if they are a  serious "million " buyer, that quantity would be fairly insignificant to them .

If they correspond in such a negative manner at  the early stage of contact ,then it has to be said ,do you really want them as a customer ?
