i think ,for the concept of 'spam' ,it's really vague

so , I think it depends on the people who are contacted , that's the key

ha-ha, i'm sending "spam" emails to the protential customers who have shown interest in our products at the past canton fairs everyday and in the email I'm writing: if you are not interested in our portable basketball stands, then please kindly delete this email directly. .......... If you are interested in our products, then please feel free to let me know.

Frankly, I feel sorry sometimes that I maybe has bothered others, but this is my job. So, I need to be thick-skinned sometimes. [em11]

Spam is really any unsolicited or unwanted email and in some countries it is actually illegal to send spam.

Personally I like to think that there is 'legitimate spam' and 'offending spam'.

If you have my namecard from a trade fair of if I have posted a buy lead for product such as yours or if the product I sell is something you make then it seems reasonable that you may send me an email offering your product. I would have no problem with that as I can choose to reply or delete that email.

If however you send me an email offering me a product that I do not even buy or sell then I would be annoyed. I would not reply to you but I certainly understand those that do.

Then there are the more offensive types of email where the buyer has already told you that they do not need any future emails from you but you still continue to send them.

Finally, if you are going to do a mass mail out then please do not use the visible cc function but instead use the invisible bcc function. I don't want every body else seeing and receiving my email address in their email box.

The problem here is abuse. Used responsibly you can get good leads from targetted emails, but sending blanket emails seldom gets the response you want. It is quality of emails not quantity that counts.
