he refused to paid UPS. In fact ,the client who have not cooperated with
us before. But i am not willing to disspointed client , i am afraid of his lie , either.
so it became more tough for us exporters . on one side , I want to get the order so i should meet our buyer's needs ,but on the other side, we should take the risk into our consideration.
It doesn't look like this company is scincere to do business with you. I assume the sample is for free, you are just asking them to paid the freight. If that is the case, move on. Look for another customer.
My usual practise is ask for courier account nr. if that is a new customer. If they fail to give me the courier account nr. or ask me to send the sample by air post. I usually ignore these people.
Be aware of greedy people who is not into any kind of business but just want a free sample and not willing to pay a dime for the shipment.

I don't understand from your post whether you posted the sample or not.
If you have not posted the sample and the customer refuses to pay the courier costs then my advice would be to to forget about that customer. It seems reasonable to me that if you are supplying a free sample that the customer should cover the shipping costs. I think if you do send the sample and pay for the shipping then you might end up losing it all.
If you did send the sample at your own cost then that was probably a mistake and you have to accept that you may never hear from that customer again.
The previous poster makes a good point however. If factories are going to charge for samples then the factory should make sure that the sample is as per the customers request. Treat it as a mini-order as such. It is all well and good for a customer to receive a free sample in the wrong color and or size but if they pay for the sample and the quality is no good then that is unfair to the customer.
If your client is so difficult that they can not work with you on a simple issue like a sample imagine how difficult it would be to negotiate anything or if there was a problem. Ask the client to be reasonable and fair and if they do not cooperate I suggest it is a client you do not need, dump them. Noel
Talk with your potential customer when they ask for sample. Let new comer pay the courier fee himself and you provide the product free.

I am so sorry for the dishonesty of some people. There is no excuse! Is it really worth the effort to enable his negative behavior as a buyer? I surely hope he is not from the USA. If he is I am humiliated by his actions!

Yes, the environment is becoming tougher to our exporter.
But in my opinion, We should not be anxious. When contracting with a customer, every step we should confirm with them first, then done. This way we could know how is the new customer.
