This question has probably been asked hundreds of times, but we are brand new to forming an import business.
How do we find a unique product manufactured in either China, Japan or Korea that would be new to the US marketplace and also, something that Americans would be really interested in buying?
Thanks.

In my opinion, there is no fool-proof way to find that elusive "unique" product. Though, is it even necessary?
Of course you want a competetive advantage, but there are other factors that can help you. For example, if you have a specific knowledge regarding a range of products, the related market, good personal relations with a buyer, etc., all that might be even better than having a unique product. What if nobody wants it?
Go for what you know and what you know to do - even if there are thousands who do the same! In fact, if there are thousands and they all survive, a well-prepared newcomer shouldn't face any extraordinary problems in such a huge market.
