Aussie swimmers Stephanie Rice and Eamon Sullivan are now free to rethink their recent break-up after their scorching performances in the Water Cube. The couple wanted to focus on winning and not on each other.
"Basically with the months ahead we are just focusing I guess being a bit selfish that we want to swim to the best of our ability," Sullivan was quoted as saying. "We both mutually agreed that being together is something that probably won't work during this month. So we decided to have a break."

It depends, depend on how deep the two love each other. Love and competition are not conflicting . You could balance and have the way to go in different time. However, some will have that excuse.

It is only temporary, and we do that all the time. Some of us behave like children, today we are good friends, tomorrow, we separate as we cross one another's sensitive spot.
Some of the reasons for break ups and points of conflict and quarrels are:
- No money in the house. Poor financial management.
- Unemployment.
- Gambling habits, compulsive gamblers.
- Alcoholism.
- Infidelity, unfaithful spouse.
- Parental interference, living with parent-in-law.
- Differences in child bearing priorities.
- Difference in likings and good habits, hobbies.
- Dominating partner, male ego and female bitching.
Some minor differences may also build up into an emotional avalanche, silly matters such as pressing the tooth paste in the middle, opposite of the partner's preference to pressing the tooth paste at the end.
Even the love of animals as pets, cat lovers as opposed to dog lovers.
Some others: watching shows DVD, type of shows, boys who do not grow up, still mad with Super heroes such as Spiderman, Batman and Robin, and his collection of comics and toys. I know of many of these obsessions, one in particular has his room full of Star Wars articles, miniatures and CDs. Some girls did not grow up, obsessed with Barbie dolls, soft toys, and her play toys. They can be become points of contentions and sources of conflict.
