China Railway High-speed at 350kph (217mph)
Post 1 of 29
China has yet struck another superlative, to build the fastest train on Earth. China has the biggest hydroelectric dam, the longest sea-bay bridge, the highest railway running to Tibet, and the biggest stadium nicknamed the "birdnest".

With German technology, joint venture between Siemens and China Northern Locomotive and Rolling Stock Ind. Corp. It is faster than the French TGV and the Japanese Shinkansen Bullet Train, the N700 at speed of 186 mph.

To show you just how fast is the new magnetic levitation train, we have to borrow the video of the TGV during the test runs, embedded below for your view.

This is another great achievement for China, improving all the time.

I remember when we took a train from Shanghai to Ningbo, it took about 4 to 5 hours.

But we had good scenic views of the coals stacked near the railway lines. It must be for the steam engine locomotives which need coal to fire the engines.

Modern technology has caught up, and China is one most progressive country, developing at a Cyber speed, like Luke Skywalker in the Millennium Falcon, going into Hyper Space.

Congratulations to the Chinese people for such achievement.

Great job from China. Nowadays time is money.  Really I am getting tired to travel with train near 14 hours.  specially when you have sleeping ticket and babies until morning crying beside you......[em1]

Do you know how much is the cost of one ticket  for this high speed train?

This gentleman, Mr. Wang Jian Shuo wrote his experience below:

3 Jul 2008 ... I just took the CRH train (or the D train) from Shanghai to Hangzhou. ... 1st class ticket price at RMB68. 2nd class ticket is RMB58

RM68 will be at USD10 for 1st class and RMB58 will be at about USD9 for second cl *.

For a trip from Shanghai to Hangzhou? That's really cheap, considering the distance. - Would like to  have a similar communication from Mexico to China! [em3]

Australia is planning on a High Speed Railway from North to South Australia. Imaging travelling on land at the speed of a plane in the sky.

Grandpa, tell us what is the principle of the high speed train, nicknamed the bullet train. Do they have the electric motors, running on stator and rotor, rotation or the Linear displacement electric propulsion system?

There you are getting me into quick sand! [em1] (the more I move to defend myself, the more I'll go down). My impression is that only the Maglev (magnetic levitation) trains use linear motors, but I'm not sure.

There you have proven your knowledge for all things.

The magnetic levitation or Maglev in short is like placing two magnets at the same pole together, it pushes apart by the repelling forces of the same pole (North and North, or South and South).

The linear motor is not a physical motor, but a series of electromagnets which propels the load by attraction and repulsion at high speed. The magnets are produced by electrical current running through coils, these currents work on the electromagnetic principle.

...so you could say that in a linear motor like the Maglev, the train plays a role equivalent to the stator in the traditional rotary motor (it is in itself the moving part).

Grandpa,

It is not quicksand, it is the bright shining light, or the flames of test, as you may call it.

The flames will burn out all the hay, wood and stubbles, but will not burn out gold, only leave it behind to shine, that is what you read from the book of James in the Bible.

It shows that you are the real stuff, how I am impressed by your intellect. Your modesty reflects your intelligence, guess you must be working as a Researcher sometime in the past.

Sometime ago, we shared about Super Conductivity. That has to do with electricity, passing through a media with absolute zero resistance. We also discussed about the trend set several years ago about the discovery of super conductivity at higher temperatures. The first discovery is super conductivity in liquid Helium, and that is at near absolute zero degree Kelvin. The "gold-rush" for Researchers began, and claims of higher temperatures by using materials for such phenomenon. But now, all these has gone underground again, as the media lost interest in this discovery, and we came to a material called neobium-titanium alloy.

See Patent for Superconductive magnetic levitation transportation system at URL:

http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6418857.html

Then you may ask: why superconductivity? What does this has to do with Maglev? Plenty, because you can float a magnet on this principle, and you can also make things float on the magnetic fields of the Earth's. You can build a flying saucer, a space craft working on magnetic levitation, and navigating by the Magnetic mapping only, from one location to another. that is your answer to the UFO.

Street,

I'm not too sure of that "World's biggest stadium" bit...

I believe Uwe has a bigger stadium in his own country - capacity-wise at least  - the Azteca in Mexico city. And don't forget the Maracana in Brazil. Also one stadium in Iran that's supposed

to seat over 100K people !

My 2 cents :)
