I`m sorry to hear that you also meet such things,some weeks  ago , my customer  ordered from me , but  when he go another city ,he told me ,he cant give me the order ,he has order the all kinds in the market , I think  they are not  honest , we must take care , or we will be cheated by them, so if you cooperate with another person ,dont care the quantity ,but care his or her  credit. How higher price you offer? Will it be a big gap than before? If sudden jump, most buyers even a regular one cannot accept it. I believe you do receive information from your raw materials' supplier 1 or 2 weeks before materials' price increase. And since this is your big buyer, you must update them regularly about price, etc if any changes will happen.

The only way now is you can contact the director directly and check out the real reason. I am sure they will think twice if they shift to new supplier coz it needs to start all over again. If your quality is up to their standard, I am sure they will stick to you. Please call their director or person in charge for the purchase.

So sorry to hear this.  2 points for your reference:

1. Urgently contact the boss to find out the real causes and try to persuade the boss change the idea and place you order( cooperation). Prepare well all data between you and the boss. On the meanwhile, it's possible to inform the supplier to stop production and decrease the loss as much as possible.

2. Offer the supplier's products q'ty produced already to the boss, and ask him(her) to accept the q'ty with the price commitment before. Thus maybe you can keep balance and avoid big loss.

Hi,

Note that you should always competative in the market. Buyers are always looking for reduce in prices. If you do not have any agreement with your buyer which protects you than you can't do anything. Better to talk with them and convince for the price on which you both have mutual benefit.

You should always have agreement with buyer that 1) until the agreement is valid they can't change supplier, 2) once order placed and confirmed by you even if they terminate the agreement they should biind to take the products they odered.

takiteasy98 if you offered the customer your best price for the product and they go eslewhere for a cheaper price then you will of course be disappointed but you cant do any better than that. They may come back after finding problems with that other supplier so dont burn and bridges here.

If however you offered them a higher price than you could have done and they went elsewhere for a lower price then perhaps you should not be too greedy next time.

Someone mentioned something about this type of customers cheating. I disagree. A customer who decides to take his / her orders to another factory is making a decision that they have every right to be making. That does not make them dishonest nor does it make them a cheater.
