we've been in the cooperation for years and today my clients informed me of taking another factories' products for purchase!!

And I am temporarily working for a china business company on a order.

as is known , china has suffered the price rising of the raw materials and ....


we have to offer higher price to protect our profit , and the buyer agreed 5 days ago!!!


today they emailed me this :

We will go else where to purchase the product .Thank you for your time and effort good luck in the future!

So , give me suggestions on this , we depends on this large purchaser to live !!!

Everything happened, happened for a reason. Try to find the reason out, if you can solve it, you could get this customer back. But if it is beyond your ability like price big difference etc, then you have to find more other new customers for cooperation. Currently, if you have begun the production for this customer, stop it and fix the problem. I believe things could be worked out a solution. 

Frankly, customer losing is a normal case in business cause they have their right to seek for the best supplier for him according to the price, quality, service etc if you failed.

Hope you doing well, I'm really sorry about your situation.  But I think you still have a chance to make this customer happy. You can find another source for you raw material which is cheaper and your price will competitive.

I hope you will sort it out soon.

You should communicate with your customers and find out the reasons. Doing like this you can show your sincerity and also can do better in the future.

Dear Ahmed,

I think it's a common story in business life. I think it's better to talk to your vendor and see if they can offer much better price. Or maybe you have to source other vendors which are more competitive. It's all about cooperation and negotiation.

sorry aboutt that but i guess all the buyers need is cheap prices and not good quality....they will run after cheaper pricing without thinking about the suppliers reputation in the market...i hope u get a good buyer soon.

I always ask my customers to sign and return the sales contract once the order is confirmed. And also ask for deposit especially when the order is big. Not many factories in China are willing to stock so much material. I barely ask factory to start anything before the deposit received. But there are many close customers always use the "long term business relationship" to skip the deposit part. If the amount is not big, I can live with it. But when the amount is big, bare in mind that deposit is a must.

Now like most other responders say you are suggested to talk to your customer again to find out the reason for cancelling. If it is because of price, you are suggested to negotiate with both parties (factory & customer). But if that is the reason for the quality, I suggest you to look for another customer. As I don't think factory can improve the quality but not further increase the price. And I hope your factory hasn't started to do anything yet. A big GOOD LUCK to you.

Hello, takeiteasy, I am sorry to hear that, but in fact, why do you depend on only one client to live? It says that craft rabbit will have three holes.  Doing business should like that, I think.

Hope that you can find more and better clients in the near future.
