Today I received an e-mail from another B2B trade portal who was open and honest enough to admit to the amount of fraud in Intl Trade, and specifically, on their website. Here it is:

In order to make EC21 more trustworthy and credible website, from now onwards, we will strictly block websites, product listing, and trade leads of the fraud members with no exceptions and develop more sophisticated policies to keep frauds away from EC21 site.

To become more credible and trustworthy website and to protect the intellectual property rights of registered brands. EC21 has decided to take following action. Commencing March 2nd, use of existing registered brands without legal permission will be strictly prohibited on EC21 site.

For example, Product Catalogues and Trade leads who are using names of well known registered brands such as Nike, Jordan, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Channel will be denied by our filtering system. Denied products and trade leads will neither be displayed on members¡¯ website nor in EC21¡¯s search result pages.

Hence, we request all our members to carefully read and understand new policy and if required, please do the necessary changes/modifications in your products and trade leads information. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in making EC21 a better trading platform.

Replying to [Obiwill]:I think so that will at least cut to half the scam on Alibaba and everywhere. If only authourized sellers are the ones who can post trade lead for phones like Nokia, Sony will be the only ones who can post PS3 Apple is the only one who can sell I-Phone on Alibaba. LV, Gucci etc

The interesting thing is that none of those brands will sell thru Alibaba or any other trade portal. They have theere own distribution method. Do you think Aliaba will follow suit?

Replying to [Obiwill]: I honestly hope so something must be done. the people that bought from authourized dealers with proof can sell of course the price will not be lower then and it will help with people falling victims.

I won't hold my breathe! I'll wait and see if Alibaba is going to be proactive or reactive about the enormous amount of fraud taking place on their site.

Hello I have been scammed by a premium supplier on EC21 and believe me,they still allow a company that scammed me 2 months ago.I think that policy is nothing and is just there so...interested buyers can feel safe.They do delete profile of member but a few days later you'll see that same company.I think alibaba is far safer site than EC21,you will be loose your money 90% of time and EC21 does nothing about fraud companies.
