This is Pravish fro India. I want to buy a Drum Set worth $300 USD from China, for my own personal use but the problem is that I don't know that which would be the cheapest method to get it to India. I was told that sea shipping (LCL) would be cheap but I don't know anything about sea shipping, port duty, destination charges and customs charges etc. So, I request everyone to please help me out with this problem and explain the entire process involved in shipping by Sea and the total cost including Customs & Documentation. Please recommend some good shipping agent also.
Details of the Drum Set are as follows-
There would be two cartons, one 77x61x58 cm and the other is 76x41x57cm. Total weight of the two cartons would be 60 Kg - 65 Kg. Shipping would be FOB Ningbo to Nhava Sheva port.

If you know nothing about import and it is only 65KG.
My recommendation is use DHL or China post to post the goods to you.
All the cost except import tax(please check from your custom) will be arround 1200USD by DHL
By sea,the cost from export party will be about 200USD the other cost you have to contact a forwarder who can do import for you.
For sea shipping ,What you need to do is ,provide the information to your vender ,pay them ask them to export the goods to you,after that they will provide you some documents,like perform invoice,sales contract,packing list ,bill of lading,may be some inspection document also ,then you find a forwarder in IN and provide the documents to your forwarder ,they will do eveything for import the goods for you,after the finished their job,they will call you,and you just drive a car or find a taxi to go to their warehouse and pick your goods

I assume that you are purchasing a sample here rather than making a product purchase. Be very careful as the 'purchase' is not covered by any guarantees or some such.
China is not a wholesale market for small purchases. You are really best to buy products for personal use from back home where you can get refunds and repairs done.
