As the above post proves Paypal is NOT a secure payment method for international transactions with scammers.

Safety comes with dealing with legitimate suppliers NOT with using the best payment method.

Chinese suppliers that do offer Paypal would raise my suspicions. Often these 'suppliers' offer Paypal as a carrot to get you in but when it comes to actually making payment they will try to get you to pay another way for any number of reasons.

Even if you do pay via Paypal, paypal is only concerned with you receiving product NOT THAT THE PRODUCT IS CORRECT, AS ORDERED, OR GOOD QUALITY. No third party can adjudicate a claim here as perhaps the buyer did receive the product as promised but just claimed that they received the wrong product. Who knows who is telling the truth.

So concentrate on identifying good suppliers and dont be foolish enough to think that Paypal gives you any form of protection here.

I agree that Paypal would have you believe it is more secure than it really is. A few months ago a fellow car club executive board member lost $2400 when the Paypal system was hacked. I've never trusted a thrird party with my banking information. There are just too many people who will mis-use that.

For the user is a nightmare because is impossible to have communication with a human being, user always is forced to communicate with pay pal trough their own system, but never can talk with a pay pal employee. If you want to sue pay pal for this you have to do it in USA, and for all latin america this mean that first you have to get a VISA to travel, pay pal know it, so they continue abusing. So if you are thinking about to collect money from your clients using pay pal first think a lot about because you may not see your money before a year.
