I ordered a product (refrb iphones)  from a company called ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS TESTING LTD in UK. after i sent the money through western union, and after recieving the money, they claimed that they needed more money to make the order for 5 and not 3 units. Now i cant get a refund and they will need ship unless i send more money.

And even i spoke to the sales person online, and even though he agreed on the shipment, his manager refuse to honor the deal. their comapny info:

we are free supplier in alibaba but we are true and honest business
we have real HTC mobile phones but they are a little expensive like USD285 for HTC 6950

Your first mistake is that their "company" sells all the hottest itmes, such as plasma tv's, laptops, computers, high end phones, and probably other popular electronics.  A supplier like that is almost unheard of in the industry.  If you go on your own to find suppliers you need to work within your home country.  At least that way you can have some recourse against a scammer.  Also my blog has a few verification tips on it.  Good luck and trade safe!

Responsibility? I have been scammed twice at Alibaba and can prove with documents that Alibaba is a home of crooks. They sell "gold supplier" status just as it is. They do nothing to protect the clients. Alibaba, now you are ignoring all the claims of your customers, be careful, once customers will start ignoring you. Maybe there are a lot of good suppliers in China, but I'm afraid thanks to alibaba it will be one day when all of them are walking around country taking pics by their cameras and listening to their i-pods and trying to sell them to each other.
