To write this article is because I have experience of working as a parcel forwarder for a foreign friend. It must be a great help to you.
When you have 1-2 parcels,2-3parcels or more, there must be some parcels very light and some parcel very heavy, for the light one, the courier would work out the price by his measurement, that is L x W x H(cm)/6000=?kg, which would heavier than the actual weight. for the heavier one, courier would work out price by the actual weight.
These parcels come from different suppliers, but due to the business secret, you can not send from one to the supplier to combine them. So, the best is to have a parcel forwarder to combine the heavy and the light parcel to be one, this really save you a lot of freight cost, some times a combination can save you 1-2 kgs.
Another saving way for you: if there are two parcel from different suppliers, and there is much space in the carton, I think many people here do see it very often, but with some skills to repack them to put goods together not to have so much space wasting in the carton, this is also a good way to save the cost.
