I asked this manufacturer near Shanghai (Zhejiang province) if i could see the Technical Files for this so and so product.... but they say it s "classified". Why would they give me this answer? Is this common practice?

I checked their CEs, by the way, called to Germany, and everything seems to be fine.

In other words, how can you verify the existence / quality of Technical Files if they are classified? Through a third party?

In test reports files there is detailed description of the product and how it's work. As you could imagine, factories don't like to give their secrets and designs to everybody. IF CE is legit, than you don't need test report files, unless you are asked for it by you customs office or state officials (that is how it is in Croatia).

best regards

So basically that means that you assume the Technical Files are there in case you need them.Yet, you haven't seen them. And the notified body lab, in many instances, hasn't seen those Technical Files either.

Is it common sense to put so much trust in a manufacturer?
