Girls or boys, which one are good at sales?

customer like to talk with girls,especially beautiful girls,

so many girls is enjoyed in many companies.

but  in reality .boys are not bad at all,

Thats some insight from a Norwegian buyer. I think male sales persons are just as good, as long as they are good salespersons. Persons just of the street or not suitable for sales will always fail, honesty and quality is the only thing that counts, so good luck whatever gender you are.

Sex aside...here is how I would rank a "good" sales person

1) Knowledge of English (if you can't communciate, how can you sell?)

2) Industry knowledge (if you don't know your industry, how can you stay ahead of trends?)

3) Product knowledge...some of my products have been quite technical, and have required sophisticated manufacturing processes. I was always disappointed when I knew more about my suppliers manufacturing processes than they did.

4) Hygiene - Make sure you don't STINK! My gosh I've been in some meetings where my contact (sorry mostly boys) have had terrible breath and must not have taken a shower in days. So boys, pay attention...brush your teeth, change your clothes and take a shower. How do you have a close cooperation when you can't stand to be around that person.

5) Then we do get to gender and while I have no particular preference, if I had all of the above in a boy or a girl, I'd prefer to do business with a girl first and a guy second.

Hmm. Boys should work harder and try best to sell products as well as themselves.

I asked the reason from 25 managers in China and they answered that, Girls know English  much better than boys and they have more ability of selling! Also they believe the girl should be beautiful so come and start working!

I am a girl, but i think boys are good at sales .  Bcs  boys have many their special characteristic   that  girls do not have ! They do what they want , faster and more accurate than girl !

At most case, i do not like to deal with girls. hehe !!![em10]

However, at our company,  almost all of the sales are girls, only one boy !

What a pity !

I am an American man. I have done business in many countries. I would say the sex of the sales agent is not the deciding factor, but rather how professional the buyer is.
Meet the buyer as a team. 3-5 people male and female. Don't assume because he is a man, that a beautiful saleswoman will help with the sale. First get a "feel" for the buyer. Don't confuse his politness for the women as a weakness, also don't confuse his indifference towards women as hostile. Assume that he/she is infact very professional, and act accordingly. Let the first people whom the buyer meets, be those with the most knowledge of the product, wheather male or female. Impress the buyer with a professional and knowledgable appearance. Have your best Engineer there and your marketing consultant there to offer suggestions and to ask questions. Show intrest in HIS customers. Many professional businessmen will look at a company as hiding behind a pretty face if you keep a beautiful woman always by his side. But, if only men are present, he may see you as bias towards women. Give the customer both!!! If he is professional, your product and your knowledge will make the sale.

To my surprise,it seems that girls are always beautiful than boys,and they are much attractive to others.Most girls are very good at English better than boys.So girls are avalible than boys to sell products. [em3]

I absolutely agree the girls alwaysflirt and use unformal tone with the male buyers, and we all know the reasons,but my male friends do not be frustrated,just keeping learning and hard working,i believe that we all will have a bright future.Frankly speaking ,i believe that the opportunity is the most crucial in the daily life,specially for the salesperson on the internet,I would like to say the opportunity takes 70 percent to a success,
