Angry Indymac Bank depositors have been warned by Los Angeles police to remain calm while they wait in line to withdraw funds from the failed bank. About 100 people are concerned they will lose their deposit, since the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) only insures amounts up to $100,000.

Many people, especially those who lived through the Great Depression, may be worried whether their money is safe in their banks.

What about you? Do you feel your money is safe at your bank?

It depends on where I am .I am in China. And our state-owned enterprises are very strong.I am never worrying about the public venture. If the bank cannot pay,it means our nation has no ability. But as a big country, even in hardship,we need to be strong enough to hold people's belief. So I trust my government,I trust the bank.It is safe and stable.

It really does depend. For folks in the US, the worry is very real. I think in places like

HK - where I am - the situation is much calmer, at least on the surface. All we can

do is keep our ears to the ground and track market news on a regular basis.

Would you rather keep your money in your house or bank ? :)

Which place is really safe today ? Our grannie's house ? :)
