TIP: Australian Customs (and also Customs in most Western countries) currently treat ALL declarations from China that brake and/or clutch lining contain no asbestos as FALSE. When your shipment (or sample) arrives it will be directed by Customs to bonded storage for removal and lab testing of all lining which could contain asbestos ... AT YOUR COST.   The linings must be removed by licensed asbestos removers (who work in space suits) and the whole process can cost you about 10k just for a few sample scooters or ATVs or the like.

Solution: get your Chinese supplier to remove all brake and clutch linings and send these in a separate box and ALSO before you import, get an Import Agent to work out the asbestos testing procedure with Customs.  [em1]

Hey there Cooltek, it's not a good idea to post an email address here (Spiders collect these from the internet for sale to spammers). Best to use the TM message facility. [em1]

Are bicycles, bikes, scooters and so forth in China still interwoven with asbestos? I figured that was something of the previous century...
