I need a little help, I am doing business with Shaoxing Xinhong Textile Co.LTD China and need to perchase a sample of a cloth pocket diaper.

I will be paying for the postage which I am told will be $20 which seem a lot for 1 nappy.

I do not want to pay for it via TT as it will cost me $35 just for the transfer and the seller cant seem to rejester for paypal, She said her credit card is not working.

She has sugested I send TNT to pick it up but it is only 1 diaper and it is not worth it.

Does anyone know of an cheap easy way to pay for a sample?

Even if you are testing the product yourself, one sample will do you no good at all. Has your child had a reaction from the diaper not being as absorbent as you would like, did this problem oocur after using the diaper brand once, or several times?

And even if the sample is half decent, perhaps this is one of the better samples they had available and does not represent an average quality that they will supply when your order size increases.

The shipping charge does sound reasonable, you just need to increase the order size to average out the shipping fee per item.

As for payment types, some suppliers will accept PayPal for small amounts, many will not. If this is a concern do some background searching, It is a bug bear of mine when someone asks "is X supplier good/real/scam" etc when they have done zero leg work to find out. 

There are some great guides in due diligence on this website, just remember when ordering via the internet from a supplier it is always a gamble no mater if they are a registered business and you do get something for your money, if you do not want to take the gamble fork out the money for an agent to check them out and pay for a pre shipment inspection or go to china/honkong/india etc etc and meet the suppliers first hand. I have witnessed people recieve great samples only for the full order to either never show up or be completely different in quality.

This is not true, paypal cover is limited when dealing with international non ebay purchases. dont trust anyone but paypal regarding the cover they will give you for any purchase, read all the fine print and know your requirments for what cover you can get.

One more thing, if you are gawking over $35 how much profit are you thinking you will make? if you are not making your $35 back why are you even looking?

say it takes 10 suppliers before you find the right one, $350 later you have a great supplier and you should make that money back, think of it as investing your money in product sourcing.

Yes, this will be a good option. you must however recieve min 1 delivery per month. it sounds like you are not guranteed to be doing this yet.

Thank you to everyone for all your help and suggestions. I since have discussed all other payment options that were mentioned with the seller but unfortunately I have to choose between TT and sending a courier!

Hi there,  Check with UPS and ask them if they would offer COD (Cash on delivery) for your package.  If they do, they will pick up the package from your source company and will deliver it to your door and will collect the fees.

Alternatively, you may want to speak with DHL.  They also have a service where you can schedule a pickup and they will charge you for the service upon delivery the package.

In all, samples are  a tricky issue.  Sometimes, it will cost you 10 times more to get one but if you feel it will generate business, it is certainly worth it.

Have you thought about using bank of honk kong / international money order,or bank transfer,good luck, talk to aus post/your bank they should be a good pointer for this

I wouldn't trust them. China has too many people that scam you. I am a victim of just that. I would only use paypal. If her credit card is not working then to play it safe, wait until it does. That is just an excuse. It takes even a debit card for paypal. Don't be FOOLED or you WILL never see your money again, even if it is a small amount. Do C.O.D. if nothing else. Please trust me on this one.
