(June 20, 2008) Five  Alibaba.com members from the Asian-Pacific region were awarded with the Alibaba.com e-Business Champions of the Year 2008 Award at the JW Marriot Hong Kong on June 20^th, 2008. The ceremony was attended by the family and friends of the winners as well as more than 200 Alibaba.com members. Media representatives were also present to cover the event.

The Asia-Pacific e-Business Champions of the Year 2008 are Mr Ansif Asharaf from Paradise Group, , Mr Paul Greenberg from DealsDirect.com.au, , Ms Pramechai Prasertsawat from Dokkaeworchid Cooperative Limited, , Mr Stanley Hwang from Tecpel Co. Ltd., and Mr Stephen Ngan from Sun Bowen Metal Products Co., Hong Kong . All 5 winners were chosen because of their passion and innovation when using the Internet for business, and more specifically, Alibaba.com, to conduct international trade. As a result, their companies have all shown significant growth and made major achievements in the past year.

The awards presentation was followed by a panel discussion on e-Business. Topics included how the panel speakers came to use the Internet for business, and how their businesses were transformed by using the Internet. Two of last year’s e-Business Champions also came by to share their experiences and tips on how to conduct trade online. Members from the floor were very enthusiastic, raising many questions and sharing their own experiences with using Alibaba.com. Many in the audience voiced their satisfaction in having learned so much from the engaging and informative panel discussion.
