Is this a new type of spam / the Chinese version of famed Nigerian spams?
I have done some successful trade via alibaba. However, recently I have been dealing with some Chinese companies who send me inquiries online and demand our products. I tell them to check our website and choose the items they want, they do so and accept the prices I give right away. But then they say they have to make a conract with us and the real game starts. They start insisting that WE SHOULD GO TO CHINA for signing the contract. As I make a counter offer for them to come and visit us here instead, none of them accepts this and what I have after so much effort and time is nothing but loads of email and phone calls (which are usually replied by people who can't speak English and give me alternative numbers!) What is the main intention behind these mails? 1 can give the names to check if necessary.

Yes you can call it a new type of the famous Nigerian/west Africa

advance fee scam and it has been quit common here over the past year,

The plot is that they show interest to buy your product in an absurd amount, even we all know you can get it cheaper in China, many time they don’t even want to see sample but just accept every thing BUT you must come to China to sign the contract,

In China you will meet some “GM, CEO Etc” and you will together sign the contract, mostly 30% TT in advance and the rest before shipment, the scam is that you will be asked to pay an very expensive gift to the Boss, expensive dinner, night entertainment, they are collecting kickback for everything even the hotel, we have seen examples of more than 10.000USD and people are also been threaten in China to pay

After you come home you will never hear from them again,

I have just had this happen to me - had a buyer pay through Paypal last night, they then demand I sent tracking 2 hours later despite me telling them that I can only send to confirmed Paypal address and shipping takes longer than 2 days and tracking number wont have for at least until Monday.  Buyer lodges claim with Paypal (remember this only was paid for less than 8 hours before) - this is fine - I tell buyer that I send back funds and go into Paypal to send back funds. Funds sent back - buyer still demanding I send goods; even after they receive payment back _ I dont think so. Watch for him - name is Mr marco yiu   - he has also threatened to ruin me - I have a copy of Paypal statement to verify he got money back. Damned crook. He is buying cellphones so beware.

Yes, looks like we all have been scammed by these guys.

Just keep a note, next time around, always always always make sure the seller has a physical trading address, a landline telephone number, and try and get copies of his trade licenses before making any payments.

Any real seller in china and any country really will have these at hand right away, if they do not send them to you, they are more than likely fraudsters.

DO NOT FORGET: REAL sellers want you to know where they are, so you can pass on word of mouth about there products.

I myself now live in China, but I also have been scammed out of money even living here.
