I agree with you. A local Chinese company can act as your purchasing agent in China and will save you more and reduce the risks in your business in China.

Replying to [Business in China]:Nice to see you ,Justin.it is a great article! but I have a question to ask ,can you help me ? we are a maker of hydraulic press in Dongguan.we have exported many of our products abroad through our Freight Forwarder. As you mentioned just now ,the buyers may run some risks ,if the sellers do not have an authority to export. Can you let me know the risks ? or will it really matter if we do not have an authority to export?

Thank you for the article. Do you have any companies that you inspected which left a positive impression? I am reading about the scams but no one is offering a recommendation.
Thanks again!

Max,
There are actually a lot (in fact the majority) good factories/ trading companies in China. It's like anything else....you have to be careful and make sure you take things step by step.
If you are into consumer electronics for example you ARE going to get scammed on brand name products... Thats a given if you have read our hundreds of posts in the forums. You just CANT by iPods/ iPhones etc from Asia.. PERIOD.
Un Branded proucts you will find more than enough good suppliers. But having your Due Diligence done certainly is amjor part of the game plan.
Think of it this way....... You would be more than ok to buy a $5,000 huge LCD/ Plasma HD TV from Sears of Best Buy etc. but would you seriously buy one from some guy you have never heard of out of the back of a truck where he only shows you a photo of the TV as proof?..... Same thing here. You have to check the supplier out. Justin does that for a living and does a good job of it. His services are recommended and well worth the cost to make sure you are delaing with a legit supplier.
