Replying to [Kulcha]: How Can Alibaba award a company a Gold Membership and allow them manufacturer status when they have not even built the factory?

by their own admission they have agreed they were wrong and have asked the supplier to change their listing catergory.

Wha gets me in all of this is the fact that even Alibaba are liars, I have supporting emails by Alibaba help desk staff "Sime" claiming that a member of the Alibaba staff had in fact visited the factory personally, how is that possible when they now admit its not even built?

Whose regulating the regulators? What chance does the overseas buyers have if Alibaba allows companies whom they claim have been vetted to blatantly lie online?[em6]

i am a member of the American Society For Quality and I find your post laughable.

80% of the Gold Suppliers would fail a factory audit. Let's be real.

Replying to [Business in China]:Dear Friend
This is a good topic, you have raise awareness on my future deals I plan to do. There is always good and bad people everywhere, but in business you need to make decisions that are not too risky. Dealing with a phantom company is like giving away your Capital and compromising your business all along.
I need to leverage this valid information and find a way to manage that. I know going to China is expensive, however it is worth to realize the benefits of such a trip. If in the long run I need a chinese partner to supply what I need for a long-time, then the costs of going there could be worthy over the years. because finding a real partner would produce more benefits. Very good information.

Replying to [Business in China]: I know the only way one can be completely sure about a seller is through seeing the factory by his/her own eyes. However, many of us are currently not in a position to do that. I am new to alibaba.com, but for last 4 days I have spent countless hours on this and pretty much read every thing about due diligence and applied them to my research. Yet I am left perplexed about many issues, I have been trying to satisfy myself about a supplier here. But some of the things that were said to prove their truth as come through just fine and few has left me hanging. Like there was that post about checking the provided phone and fax numbers. Well that worked out just fine, on the phone number a female representative answered and the contact listed is also female. The fax line is also just that a fax line. However, when I tried to find a credit report of this business on D&B, it turned out this is a business in honk kong, and not from mainland China as the addresses on their profile say it. I tried tracking down the address, but all the directories are in chinese and I unfortunately don't know the language yet (but I hope to learn it soon). Same is the case with the websites you provided to track their registration number. And lastly their website is also registered on someone else's name and the billing address provided for the website is also different. Plus, the phone number is out of order as well.
So you can see I have followed the suggestions on these forums thoroughly , yet I got nothing. In this case Mr. Business in China I ask you, how can your company help us poor buyers. Can you track a company and inform us if they are for real?

Sure, the best and most cost-effective way for your to find a long term supplier is to audit them in person, inspect their factories in China. We can carry out this work on your behalf in China and we'll submit you a report with enough photos for your reference. We only trust our eyes in case everybody can create a company online.
