I am interested in getting some samples from China, more specifically sample yardage of fabric. It will be a worth max. 150 dollars and weight will be about 6 pounds.

My question is; when it is samples, do I still have to go through the whole trade, customs and importing paperwork. Or since it is only samples that are not being used for resale, it will all go automatically, through lets say FedEx?

Any help would be appreciated. I am a newbie at this.......

If your samples are not fake brand products, then you don't need to worry about the clearance customs, FedEx will handle the whole process, just stay at home for waitting.

2 points.

1> Make sure the shipment is marked "COMMERCIAL SAMPLES, NO RESALE VALUE

2> Don't use fedEx etc as the cost is much greater. Since this is yarn just get them to MAIL it to you.. Heck of a lot cheaper (but slower)

For samples, ask supplier to suppy  invoice for custom may note non-commercial and non-formal custom clearance, so that there would not cause you any problem.

For shipping, you may send through Fedex, although it is a bit expensive, but there custom clerance ability is better than others.I help some friends from abroad to forward parcels to them, and have a good discount with them.
