It is certain that Paypal will bring us more business opportunities since it is widely used by buyers all over the world. It is safer and sometimes charge less from the buyers comparing with other payment terms. And it is also welcome buy some suppliers because it is fast and convenient enough.

However, our company had a bad experience by using Paypal several days ago.I'd like to lay out the whole long story so that you can give me some advices to deal with the problem.

Several days ago,one of my customers who was newly came from Alibaba ordered some products from me,it is more or less $437.Ofcourse he paid through Paypal and we sent him the package. Our sales sent him several E-mails to tell him the tracking number but didn't see his reply. And finally he sent E-mail to us but said that he've reported to the Paypal since we haven't given him the tracking number for days gone by.Our sales tried to contact with him by E-mail again---because after he played the order he has never got on his MSN again---But didn't see his reply.

  Then what happened?

The package was on the way to the customer but he still didn't cancerl his report in Paypal. Then a few more days later the payment got back to the customer's account. It means that we sent our products without getting any money!!!!

We are so dissapointed to have such a customer like he is.Who can tell how to solve the problem? And there is a doubt whether accept Paypal is good or not.

PayPal can be a useful tool for a Chinese supplier to accept small payments. However, you need to get your buyer to send you a signed fax stating (a) all PayPal payments are considered final (b) buyer will not cause reversals of any PayPal payments. Such fax is not entirely foolproof but is a standard protection tool used by many sellers in the West. I can give you full text for that sort of fax if you want it.

Thanks Aussie, your full text for the sign fax will be appreciate. In fact,I've reported to Paypal after the money got back to the person but it seems we could seldomly get the money anymore.Paypal protect buyers more I think.

Hello my friend

I regret to inform you that your money is lost and trust me I know that its totally unjustified.

I have been robbed by people so many times myself because paypal would favor the buyer. But there is no solution to this unless there is a signature proof. If you had the signature proof then paypal will surely not give the buyer money back.

Anyways, as for the answer to your question. PayPal is good to give genuine buyers confidence in dealing with you but use it with only low value orders for around US $ 100-1000 maximum. Beyond that dont take a chance. I will advise you to use 2CO or Google Checkout or any other credit card processor rather than paypal because they are more customer(thats you) centric.

Best Regards

I have had this kind of experience before, but there is something that I do not understand or maybe there are some other vital information that you have not told us yet.....

1. The money will be temporarily hold by Paypal until the case has been resolved by both parties. Since according to your writings, the buyer did not response, therefore the paypal cannot refund the payment to the buyer until a few month later due to lack of action by both parties. Moreover, you have not settle the case immediately, did you? Then there is no reason for Paypal to give the money back in a couple few days. That is not possible.

2. You have a shipping tracking number, therefore, you can submit your tracking number to Paypal to verify that your package has already been shipped. I do not understand why you did not submit this evidence or did you forget to mention it?

3. Everything seems to be happening too soon? And I do not think that your money is already returned to the buyer. Like I said, I have experienced with this kind of situation, and it usually takes a month or more to settle. Moreover, the money is been withold by Paypal, so your money is not gone until you submit your papers (tracking numbers) email messages, and other documents. Please check with your paypal again.

4. Why didn't you call the buyer? Do you have his phone number? Moreover, if somebody  made an over $400 order, shouldn't you have a phone number in case something wrong could happen?

Paypal is not 100% safe, but I will still recommend it for any amount less than $500..... Moreover, you can fight the system if you do your due dilligence.

According to my experience, I have more than 100 transactions every month using paypal, and there are only 1 or 0 cases of refund........

Know who your customers first before putting the blame on Paypal.

The case was dealed with one of my colleague and I didn't exactly know how long did it took. But I just heared it two weeks ago from my colleague and till  now the payment went back to the  buyer's account. However,it really happened to us.

[em1]Though our products are just grade AAA brand replicas I'm quite sure that the package has arrived at the destination.Because I've seen he receipted when searching with the tracking number.

Now everybody must be suspicious why we still can't get our money back since we already have enough evidence to show to paypa[em3]l.In fact,we've claimed to paypal as you told.Unfortunately Paypal said that the money in the guy's account is UNsolicited[em4],UNknown and they can do nothing to help us to get back the money.

  What can we do then?

I've never involved in the payment of paypal before. the questions you proposed interest me greatly. According to your statement,  it looks that the main function for paypal is similar to Taobao on alibaba in china. buyer-oriented features is unfair to some degree when you are at the side of seller, I think. whereas T/T  is favourable for seller. how to find a compromised way to solve the problem of payment is indeed a headache.  except giving you sympathy and asking you to take a lesson next time,  there seems not good advice.
