Much has been made (and rightly so) of having an Agent act for you in other countries. To work on your behalf to help find products, to make sure the companies you deal with are not frauds, to help get the best deals possible and much much more

If, as a buyer, you do decide upon this path the next question you have to ask yourself is:

What does he/she need from me?

I have skewed this topic from the point of view that it is a buyer hiring an agent rather than a seller.

Would appreciate comments from buyers on what you THINK your agent needs to know and from agents who would like to tell us what they NEED to know.. the results could be interesting.

As a buyer, I need to know my agent can deliver. So when i ask for chicken, I should get chicken, not ducks.

From what I learnt, pictures are not worth a thousand words because agents can still get it wrong.  So it's best to give a physical sample.
