Dear Emily,

I was actually considering quitting this forum due to a couple of reason, but I felt I will have to answer your post first.

It will do you no good to have both posts remain un-reply, so let me be the first.

You seem confused (unless you are testing the water here with your post). How could a smart girl who have just graduate from the University be so undecided about whether to work faithfully or to marry a rich man.

And on your first day of work, you are already feeling lost.

My advise is, if you have take a first step in posting to this forum, then you will be doing alright.

It is always important to have an outlet for your pent-up emotion and questions. And it is always good to seek advice.

If you mum dare suggest you marry a rich man, then you must be quite good-looking, in which case, you already have an advantages over many of your peer.

You have studied all this years for your degree, so I believe you will not like to see it gone to waste. So my advice is to at least spent a few years gauging your own calibre and if you are fortunate to find arich young man who loves you and whom you love, then go ahead, get married.

I have been a business man long enough and I have seen many young girls marrying of to rich man, but it is always difficult to see a good match if the girls started of  in life with only the sole motive of looking for a rich man.

Proof your self in your career and you will earn your respect, and even if you indeed marry a rich man, people will still respect you and your would be husband will also treat you with respect instead of considering you as an "bought" object.

As for your work, remeber, everyone started as a greenhorn. Your confident and self-esteemed will be your driving force. And as I have say earlier, you are here to seek advices, then it proof that you have a right attitude.

You will be alright.

Thank you Emily for your kind commends.

I started of in this forum trying to contribute my 2 cents worth of experiences. But I was a little disappointed that this forum has became a battle ground for many unwarranted debate for people with undesirable aim.

Many in this forum are here to contribute but ther are also many here for personal glory. They seek acceptance of their view and can sometime get very upset when their view is not being accepted. Fortunately, I have face little of this uncomfortable encounter but I have seen many who does.

I am also leaving for the Middle East and may not have so much time to contribute in this forum. But I promised you that when I am available, I will be here to asist.

Keep posting Emily, there will be many here to help you along.

Hello!

First of all my sincere felicitations on your graduation and being so lucky to get a soft hand on a job for which 1000+1 would be vying & woeing at all costs. My first advise to you is that don't be so ever-apprehensive as everyone around there has had his/her first day encounter with with the frills & thrills of joining an organization howsoever big or small as a job is a job and is always ever-demanding....;

Secondly, just be little over-cautious & a bit of restraint & refrain has to be exercised while expressing any views especially about your Boss if he happens to be a young lad in a family-owned business or if he has been a college drop-out as extra-curricular activities are always at hand.....

Thirdly, i'd prefer to say in person....

Tchau & take care.....

Dear Emily,

I had the same scence when I was a greenhand in overseae business. There isn't helpful to you if I express a lot here.  Just do it, everything is not so hard as we imagine, of course not so easy as we expect.  If you think you can, you can.
