is anyone aware of any problems they had importing from any of these companies..regarding laptops..

As far as electronics, wouldn't it be easier if  attorneys would just DIRECTLY go after the manufacturers of fake  products as opposed to going after resellers one by one?? If everyone knows that a certain company in China manufactures replicas, then how come no one shuts them down?? Some of those companies have been accessible for years. I'm not sure how the law works over there, but this has been an ongoing issue, and I have seen more and more of these companies grow bigger and bigger. So exactly who is cracking down on what?

I can think of two reasons that this does not happen:

1. Laws are different in different countries as are the requirements for enforcement. Although big players like Apple would have worldwide trademarks, not all products are trademarked in every country and sometimes they are only trademarked in the consumer countries. So it is possible that a product may be illegal to sell in your country but not illegal to make in another.

2. Enforcement emphasis varies from country to country. Production and local sale of counterfeit brand name products is tolerated by the government in China. Other governments in other countries are less tolerant of counterfeit products.

So clearly if you are selling in the US market then the US laws and enforcement rules apply to you.

I dont agree with your complaint that brand name products are overpriced and that this is a fair reason for people to buy counterfeit products. If you wanted a Ferrari would you buy a kit car that looks like a Ferrari from the outside but is not??!!! I doubt it.

The very fact that you and your customers want the brand name product means that the brand name company has done their job well and they deserve your business in return.

There are no legitimate suppliers of brand name product outside the licenced distributors chain so dont part with your money in the hope that you can get stuff on the cheap elsewhere.

i even heard theres one sight.. that is selling macbook ..at... $250 usd........Believe me or not....

 Show me a seller selling a Mac Book air for 250.00 any denomination of currency and I'll prove that they are nothing but a scammer.

Hello Ranger, I have been also reading along this forum and I myself have run across a site I assume similar to these. You see, I am dying to get a MacBook and this site supposedly has really cheap laptops and many other things. It's just, I know that in most cases if it seems to good to be true, it is. The add shows all of the specifications of the MacBook and it looks fairly convincing.  It is http://seller188.com and I cannot find any feedback at all for this company. If you could help me out that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

NEVER BUY APPLE FROM CHINA

Please note that to sell apple in any area the wholesaler has to be lisenced in the contury of sale.

you cant buy aythentic apple products from anywhere apart from your contry of sale,

you also need a lisence to sell apple from apple.

it is also illegal to import apple products in scale from abroad.

Buy from a local lisenced wholesaler instead.

Apple tend to offer resellers around 5-15% profit margin. Apple actually offers some of the lowest profit margins in the electronic device industry! If you think you can get a retail $2000 Macbook pro for less than $600 (or even $1500) then your a fool.

You must remember that APPLE manufactures its own products in China. ALL of apple products are made under their own management. Although they are made in China, they aren't really sold in China (99.99% of Chinese people can't afford Apple products anyway). Chinese factories usually only keep less than 10% of the profit - hence why China will always be a poor manufacturing country.
