Other mistakes:
1) web site that is not SE optimized - web site that does not do affiliate marketing either directly (can be expensive or time consuming to recruit affiliates thou) or via top affiliate networks such as CJ.com (big but expensive), IdeaMamaAdNetwork.com (free and effective), ClickBoth (large deposits, large coverage).
2) web site that is lacking content
3)web site that is lacking community engagement
4) websites without AI element to offer visitors products bases on their online behavior
5) many more....
