Have you ever heard the word "CHINDIA"?
I recently noticed a word CHINDIA in an article. When I searched, it seems, it has been there for some time referring to India and China in total.

Re: Re: Have you ever heard the word "CHINDIA"?
What a silly term. It combines two countries that are far more distinct and diverse within than Europe or the USA. India and China have only few things in common (e.g. being in the same general geographic area).

The term sounds like it was first coined in US-media. The amazing thing is that it is a typically american thing to think in "Blocks".

But after all we Americans call ourselves after a whole continent (or two, depending on who you ask!).

Yes ---The first phrase that was ever coined between the two countries was ''Hindi - Chini Bhai Bhai'', couple of years down the line it became ''Hindi - Chini Bye, Bye''

Now this phrase, 'Chindia'has been coined by our minister Mr. K. Nath.

Some people are die hard optimists. They have coined the term "chindia". why not Indina?

I think the words are very difficult to pronounce when they are together.

China and India can only come together in words and not in reality.

However, although India was once a British colony,  India  does have more similarities in culture with China ,than with the West . Besides ,  we both are developing countries,  there are more common interest ..

Thou India was a colony of Britian. It was forceful. They came as traders and later established their bases in India. Rest history as u know.  What I see in today's world westernization has really sweeped in the thinking of asians in particular.  Notably the koreans ,Japanese and now the chinese. That's not the case with India. Thou we were forcefully colonoized except in the urban areas and some pockets of Rural. India remains the yore of traditions and customs of nearly 2000 years. It hasn't changed a bit to my surprise. It 's the same old India. Linguistic  pride, religious customs and food habits remain the same in many rural parts of India where the majority Indians live.

Infact looking back at history. Asians countries were influenced more by India thru its religion. Much of the credit goes to India with its Dharmic principles. Before christianity took hold of Europe and rest of the world. There can be disagreements to my post or view. Please post ur views inspite of it.
