"Good night, young man."
Post 1 of 12

My wife and I were dining out with our children one evening. Our five-year-old son caught the eye of a woman at the next table who smiled at him, and he smiled back.

When she got uo to leave, we encourage Dave to say goodbye. She leaned over and said with a smile, "Good night, young man."

Dave looked up at her, with an equally big smile, and said, "GOOD NIGHT, OLD LADY." [em3]

Actually I would say, from a point of view of logic and honesty, your son behaved very well. At that age he can't know that a woman DEMANDS dishonesty! [em2]

In life you will always find "these and those" people. Don't teach your son to give in to those who get offended because a little boy said the truth. Just explain in a friendly way that woman love to be flattered.

In China, every body loves to be flattered, although there may be some "intrigues" behind thoese flatteries. That's how corruption grows faster and faster in every part of China.I am not joking but serious.[em5]

Well..I will let it go.Just try to ignore my son's words and laugh out later on after departure. Now I am waiting to come across this situation as my son is only 1.5 years old, can not say any word except murmuring "papa","jeijei" and "dei dei"..really lovely.[em3]
