Oil Price Hikes - the cause of rising fuel oil costs.

The trouble with people is; when they were having it so cheap, they take it for granted that is what they deserve and paid for, not knowing that is highly subsidised by the Government, who is taking public funds to pay for the Raw Crude Oil and sell to the public at lower than cost price.

When the price was low, nobody thank the Government for the subsidiery, but when it becomes no longer bearable to continue funding the fuel oil economy, the price increases and everybody complains and hit out at the Government.

China is only increasing the fuel oil price this time, after so many countries did it some six months ago. Countries like ours do not subsidize for the Petrol, only the Diesel to some taxi operators, and that is not subsidiary at all, only a reduction of tax.

When I read of the increase and took a closer look at the price the Chinese are paying for the Petrol, it is still considered to be one of the cheapest in the world. The increase in prices for the fuel oil is inevitable, there is no way that this commdity can be available at the same price when CrudeOil (raw material) price hit above US$120 a barrel.

I scratch my head on this one and wonder why you would even think there could be any positive on this!

This question should be alter to "how or what impact will it have on your business". Such increase can not possibly bring any positive outcome unless you hold shares in the companies that produce the electricity or oil.

Yes I was having those stakeholders in mind when posting the topic. Yes I know most, if not all, of those down stream oil and electricity companies are national owned. Some of them may still be members of Alibaba for some sideline business. I should not create a discussion excluding or ignoring some possible views. Just both you and me are assuming people in the oil sector is benefiting on the price hike; while it may not be true. My job is to open a window to hear their voice out. [em17]
