Dear Admin, This will be my final topic as a Mod, but not my final post. I had already send you an email to request quiting as a Mod and to become an ordinary user instead, there is no point volunteering to be a Mod to a forum where the system definitely need major modifications and where it seems to be a competition to accumulate "virtual" Mod powers and authorities among some. Communication breaking down, tension flying, argument brewing, opinions are oppressed.... Even a simple topic like "Who will be the next US president?" which is harmless in many ways in my opinion. However it can lead into a huge political debate and should be taken down as suggested by some of the kindest of Mods because "Either have a rule or not." What does that mean anyway? If "Who will be the next US president?" is political incorrect, then "Obama in Japan" is also politically incorrect I said. Yet "Obama in Japan" is classified as NEWS, therefore it is alright! "Who will be the next US president?" is a survey therefore it is not alright according to a Mod. GOOD GRIEF...... Another really weird thing is that "all url is not allow" but yet "WWW DOT WTPLINDIA DOT COM & WWW DOT TCCINDIA DOT COM (Credits to Admin)" is alright and said, "Either the rules are to be abided by all or let there be no rules."..... So, "WWW DOT RYU HYPEN MEI DOT COM (Credits to Admin)" is alright..... but www.ryu-mei.com is not?..... GOOD GRIEF I said "Potato" and everybody said "Tomato"?.....Excellent! Am I the only one who find all these weird? funny? Simple issues turn into major fights, interesting to read at first, but starting to get very mundane and tiring. So admin, can you please tell me how and when I can quit as a Mod. I know that there are alot of Mods went missing (quitting?) and I do not want to be irresponsible by leaving my Mod duties. Should I wait till you find the replacements? 1 months notice? If you do not reply, I will leave all my duties immediately after 1 month. You can reduce all my points. At this stage, I hardly care, I join just for the fun of it, not for the glory or status. I think all the Mods are great bunch of people, but please turn down the sensitivity volume down.........      1. No signature is allowed to have contact information, this is the rule

     2. No political in the forum is the rule

     3. Moderators should act/respond in a professional manner and not engage in any personal/commercial acts of promotion or competitive criticism.

     4. Moderators must have Alibaba Trade Manager installed and remain logged on when performing moderation tasks. Moderators are encouraged to communicate related forum activity to their Alibaba.com supervisor on a daily basis.

All of them are the rules. If we break this rules, we need to think about ourselves. These days, you are right, some of the rules are broken.

Even some of the mods are missing some days or some month.

I will give the quit rules and the out rules this month.

Hope you could still be our mod, if we believe we could make our forum better than before.

Since this text is related to me so I would like to intervene.

As I have already mentioned in my signature that it's credit goes to Alibaba Forums Admin.



I have putted it just for protest and it is not for any type of marketing else otherwise I would have replied and many posted many topics thereafter. Instead, I am silent from there on in the forums. It is interesting to see that you and some others also tried using the same form of signature.

Alibaba Forum Admin says about this rule i.e. "1. No signature is allowed to have contact information, this is the rule" but do they themselves follow them?

As a result of this, same type of signatures are being used by two Chinese Moderators.

Now you and everybody can understand that why I have placed similar signatures and why I am silent in the forums.

I also request Admin either make the rules same for all or to release me from moderatorship as I don't want to post in the forums as a moderator while breaking the rules by myself.

                     Sorry to intervene in this topic .But let me frankly tell you Carol I am also no more interested in being a moderator.The reasons need not be told.You can read them as above.Forums are improperly organised,everything is haywire and the most important thing some persons are targetted unnecessarily.I don't want to name them.This is totally distracting me from my work and I can't take this any longer.So either improve your forums or let me quit it.As Thomas I too don't want to be irresponsible.If you want me to quit after a notice period of 1 month then you can inform me the same.Hope to have a response on this topic at your earliest convenience.

You probably didn't realize it, but last year I also was a mod for a short time. And as you did realize, I like to particpate in friendly, informative chats in many forums.

The reasons for my request to Alibaba to release me from my mod duties were a little different from your and Thomas' case, but nevertheless had to do with the wrongdoings of a few (very few) mods who don't understand why a mod is given certain power. It certainly is not for the purpose of having "bragging rights", as it was already mentioned in this topic.

Well, I'm gone in this regard, and I would feel extremely odd coming back to a mod position. But I would like to urge you, Thomas and anybody else who is considering giving up to think about it again. We (Alibaba, the mods, the forum members, occasioal readers, etc.) are all victims of a few "professional" evildoers. The vast majority are nice people who most of the times only cause problems due to ignorance, moments of emotions, etc. And in those cases I think Alibaba will agree that "cutting a little slack" is the way to go.

In my opinion, giving up - with all the negative consequences for the forums and those who read/participate - would cause a lot of damage, due only to a few rotten apples. How about isolating these rotten apples instead, to avoid spoiling the whole basket? I think that would be a very positive and most likely successful solution.

Personally, I appreciate all who have participated in this topic so far, and I would welcome your affirmative decision.

Ok, now, about the signature, we are thinking more methods to slove it but not just only to delete them. But it needs time.  If we couldn't get better idea, I plan to shut this function, may be this is  fair to all of our member.  What's your idea?

We didn't have this function, but we could get more functions to make our play fair.in the future.

About the the moderator rules, it is a urgent . I would beg your idea too. We all humans and need the rules to constrain ourselves.

Such like the quit rules, fired rules, missing rule, mod rule and so on.

Leave your comments here, and  hope the draf copy will come out at the end of this month.

If you feel lost interesting in our forums, i accept your quit.  Because if one lost his passion, his forum couldn't get better and it is so bad for our members.

Thanks for your contribution for our fourm.  After this case, i will listen to my senior mods that if some one couldn't stay in our forum for more than one year, he or she is not qualified to the mods.
