I am New here, I had read alot in this forum, it seem that quite a numbers of people get scammed.

It make Newcomer feel that is a waste of time finding serious compaines whom like to do business in here. Please kindly enlighten me,

if there is more scammers in here then those that are serious, so what are we here, this portal is wasting our time.

I just wanna to know is there any one out there, had seriously make deals with those companies in here without been scammed?

it is worth the time to spend in here for sourcing for suppliers?

Alan it certainly appears that way doesn't it, but I think that appearances are somewhat deceiving. A case of the minority being more visible than the majority.

The prevalence of scammers is largely influenced by the product that you are trying to buy and the method by which you try to buy it.

1. Foreign brand name products coming from China and Asia in general are the domain of scammers as this is really no legitimate supply of these products from those countries to your country. If you are looking for these products then give up now as you will not find a legitimate supply here for them. Probably 80%+ of the complaints you see on this board about scams are made by people who tried to buy brand name product. Stick with licenceed re-sellers recognized by the brand name company themselves.

2. Consumer electronics in small quantities. The second group of buyers that seems to end up losing their money are the new comers who want to buy 'high profit, high demand' consumer electronics products in small quantities from manufacturers in Asia. Generally speaking legitimate manfacturers of these products want minimum orders of 100-1,000's of pieces, whereas most new buyers are looking for a small investment of a handful of pieces. In most cases these buyers end up dealing with trading companies and sometimes even scammers. The problem here is generally more qualiy related than scam related as the actual product comes from an unknown supply. I am told, and I fully believe, that there are options available for small quantity purchasing from legitimate suppliers of these products, but judging by the fact that so many people get burned trying to find these legitimate sources I honestly think that new buyers are better off assuming that it is not really possible unless they have the ability to really get hands on and find these suppliers.

I am not suggesting that the above is impossible, but buyers that fit the above two categories probably account for about 95% of the complaints that we see here on the forums.

The other 5% are pretty random scams or quality or payment issues that are less easy to predict. Evidence that there are problems outside there indstries.

So there are many opportunities for trade here at alibaba, just be very careful when dealing in the industries mentioned above.

Depend on which products you are looking for.

If you are looking for brand products,it is a wast of time here.

If you are looing for others,I think there are tons of suppliers here can help you.

Hmmm.... That is a generalization, what never can be true.


We are selling the original Hereke Silk Carpets - and we are not scammers in any way.


We are looking for buyers and sales representatives here, whith whom we could establish a long-term co-operation.


But it seems, that here is not the right place for our luxurious Hereke Silk Carpets.


What I found here, on Alibaba.com, is not, what I awaited.

Hesika you raise an interesting point.

I believe that what Inspectorsid was referring to is the same as what I was referring to and that is worldwide foreign brand name products - such as Nike, Motorola, Sony etc.

Many buyers come to this forum in the hope that they can get these products on the cheap and they end up getting scammed. So any advice to avoid brand name products from China is good advice.

If your product was being made by you in factories in China you would certainly not want buyers going direct to the factory nor would you want factories that you dont know making sub-standard product and then putting your label on it.

I dont know your product nor your market, but perhaps it is just not suited to the type of buyers that are here at alibaba. Alibaba wants to become a global marketplace but at this stage it is still largely a China and Asia supplier base so perhaps buyers are more inclined to seek cheap products through this site.

I assume that you are posting selling leads etc.

what I want to tell you is that if want to scape of being scammed, you'd better spend more time on the forum, scammers on the forum are easily recogzied by the moderaters and give some note to people, oppositely, you can learn skills and some acknowlege to avoid being scammed from this forum.

I am the moderator too, and glad to know you here.
